Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Teameo, Microsoft Teams integration, Class Notebook automation, security, and rollout.
About Teameo
What is Teameo?
Teameo is a Microsoft Teams digital workspace for higher education. It connects a college or university's student information system (SIS/ERP) to Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 Education, automating class creation, Class Notebook setup, enrollment sync, and end-of-term archive.
Who uses Teameo?
50+ colleges and universities across Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, France, and Belgium. Both CEGEP-level institutions and 4-year universities. Both French-speaking and bilingual campuses.
How is Teameo different from Microsoft School Data Sync (SDS)?
SDS is Microsoft's free native sync tool, designed primarily for K-12. Teameo is designed for higher education: it integrates with college and university SIS platforms (Jenzabar, PeopleSoft, Banner, Workday Student, Omnivox, Clara, COBA), handles meta-course fusion, audit logging for Law 25 / RGPD compliance, and offers more administrative flexibility for super-users and techno-pédagogues.
Integration & technical
Which SIS and ERP systems does Teameo support?
International student information systems: Jenzabar, PeopleSoft, Banner, and Workday Student. Quebec higher-education ERPs: Omnivox, Clara, and COBA. Any other system with a REST API, CSV export, or database view can be integrated. Contact us if your SIS isn't listed.
Does Teameo create Class Notebooks?
Yes. Teameo automatically creates a OneNote Class Notebook for each class it provisions in Teams, with the instructor as owner and students enrolled. Class Notebooks are also archived when the term ends.
Which Microsoft 365 and Teams plans are required?
Teameo works with Microsoft 365 A1, A3, and A5 Education plans. Teams for Education is the primary surface; Outlook and OneDrive integration come with the same tenant.
How often does Teameo sync?
Every 15 minutes during the first two weeks of each semester (add/drop period), then hourly for the remainder of the term. Real-time sync is available for institutions that need it.
Can Teameo merge meta-courses in Teams?
Yes. Multi-section courses can be unified into one Teams class with channels per section. Teachers get one content space; channel-scoped discussions keep each section separate.
Security & privacy
Where is student data stored?
In your institution's Microsoft 365 tenant and your SIS — not in Teameo. We read from the SIS and write to Microsoft Graph. No persistent copy of student data lives outside your environment.
Is Teameo compliant with Quebec's Law 25 and RGPD?
Yes. Teameo complies with Law 25 (Quebec), PIPEDA (Canada), and RGPD (France, Belgium). Data processing agreements are signed with every client institution. See our Security best-practices declaration for the full compliance framework.
How do you handle a security incident?
Clients affected by a confirmed incident are notified within 72 hours. Critical vulnerabilities are patched within 24 hours. See our Vulnerability management policy.
Pricing & rollout
How much does Teameo cost?
Teameo is priced by institution size (number of active students). Pricing is institutional; book a demo for a firm quote.
How long does a rollout take?
Typical rollout is 4–8 weeks: 2 weeks for SIS integration, 2 weeks of parallel running, 2 weeks of pilot with 3–5 courses, then full deployment. We've done express rollouts in 10 days when the semester start is approaching.
